As a result of your use of the website (hereinafter referred to as the «Website»), we may require you to provide us with your personal data, so that you have the possibility to use the services provided through the Website. 3. Collecting personal data

The legal basis of our processing of your personal data is the following: The legitimate interest resulting from your voluntary provision of your personal data when visiting the Website and/or requiring information on our services, as these data are aimed at enabling us to better answer to your information requests about our services; Your consent to our use of social network cookies, advertising cookies and Google Analytics cookies, as set forth in article «Cookies»; Processing is necessary for the performance of the contract to which you are party for purposes of using our services on our Website. Your personal data is processed to meet one or several of the following requirements:

  • To manage your access to the services provided through the Website and their use;
  • To provide the data to the medical service provider designated by the user (clinics, hospitals, dentists, or specialists around the world or, if no medical service provider has been designated, to up to fifteen medical service providers selected by MED according to fixed criteria (state of health, preferred country, language of the medical service provider and the user, reaction of the medical service provider in previous cases, and «best price» for the procedure requested by the user or based on the limited information available to MED) in order either to request an offer or to book a service from the medical service provider.
  • Passing on this data to third parties, partners, and affiliated companies globally who provide customer service, advertising, or payment services on behalf of MED in accordance with MED’s instructions and in compliance with the data protection declaration and corresponding confidentiality and security measures of MED.
  • To carry out operations necessary for the management of customers with regard to the contracts, orders, deliveries, invoices, fidelity programs, follow-up of the customer relations;
  • To constitute a file of registered members, users, customers and prospects;
  • To send newsletters and promotional advertisements. In case you do not wish so, you have the possibility to opt-out of receiving such communications when your data are collected;
  • To provide commercial and service use statistics;
  • To manage customer’s opinions on products, services or contents;
  • To manage unpaid invoices and possible disputes about the use of our products and services;
  • To customize our answers to your information requests;
  • To respect our legal and regulatory requirements.

We inform you, when collecting your personal data, whether some of these data are mandatory or optional. Mandatory data are necessary for the provision of the services. You are free to provide or not optional data. We will also inform you of the possible consequences of failure to reply.

MED’s medical service providers are essentially clinics, hospitals, dentists or established specialists around the world.

These data will be used exclusively for the aforementioned purposes, unless the user expressly permits MED to use them for other purposes. In this case, the data will be used only to the extent necessary for the respective purpose, e.g., conclusion, execution, and performance of the contract.

Personal data and its contents provided by you remain exclusively with us and our affiliated companies. We will only store and process your data for the purposes stated. Any use beyond the stated purpose requires your express consent.

The data processing by our partners is subject to their data protection regulations.

The personal data will be deleted immediately in case of revocation of your consent or if the purpose of data use no longer exists.

5. Disclosure of personal data

MED uses a variety of third-party providers and affiliated companies to offer services via the platform. These third parties and affiliates may originate from anywhere in the world.

The third-party providers and affiliates may assist MED with the following:

  1. The verification or confirmation of the user’s identification;
  2. The comparison of information with public databases;
  3. Background checks, fraud prevention, and risk assessments; or
  4. The provision of after-sales services, advertising, or payment services.

Since the disclosure of personal data and special personal data to third parties is not permitted under the above provisions, personal data and special personal data shall be disclosed to third parties only in the following cases:

Data concerning current and potential customer management: Your personal data shall be stored no longer than the time strictly necessary for the management of our commercial relations with you. 11. Use of Facebook social plugins

Our website uses so-called social plugins («plugins») of the social network Facebook, which is operated by Facebook Inc. Our website uses features of the LinkedIn network. The provider is LinkedIn Corporation.
